Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea
Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea is crafted from centuries-old Shan tea trees growing deep within the misty mountains of Northwest Vietnam. More than just a tea, it represents purity, calmness, and the natural spirit of the highlands.
Highly valued by tea lovers for its clean taste, lingering sweetness, and elegant character, this rare green tea offers a truly authentic Vietnamese tea experience.
1. Tea Leaves & Origin
Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea is made exclusively from young tea shoots harvested in the traditional “one bud, two leaves” standard from ancient Shan tea trees over 300 years old in Phình Hồ, Yên Bái.
These ancient trees grow naturally in remote mountain forests surrounded by cool temperatures, mineral-rich soil, and year-round mist. The tea buds are small and coated in fine white hairs resembling snow — the signature characteristic of authentic Snow Shan tea, one of Vietnam’s rarest and most prized tea varieties.
2. Traditional Handmade Processing
Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea is produced entirely by hand by local Hmong artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Hand Harvesting
Only the youngest shoots — one bud and two leaves — are carefully picked early in the morning while the mountain mist still lingers, ensuring maximum freshness and aroma.
Natural Withering
The leaves are gently air-withered using natural mountain airflow to reduce moisture while preserving their vibrant green colour.
Pan Firing
This is the key step in preserving the tea’s fresh green character and delicate flavour. The tea is lightly roasted in traditional iron pans over controlled heat and continuously stirred by hand.
Rolling & Drying
The leaves are gently rolled into elegant twisted shapes and naturally dried to retain their fresh vegetal aroma and natural sweetness.
Every step is performed slowly and carefully to preserve the tea’s nutrients, bright appearance, and refreshing mountain character.
3. Quality Standards & Certifications
Our Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea meets strict international standards for quality and food safety, including:

These certifications reflect our commitment to clean, safe, and sustainable tea production.
4. Flavour Profile
Ancient Snow Shan Green Tea captures the pure essence of the Northwest Vietnamese mountains — fresh, delicate, and deeply calming.
When brewed, the tea releases aromas of young rice, green cereal, fresh herbs, and wild grasses.
The liquor is bright golden-green, clear, and vibrant. The first sip delivers a gentle vegetal bitterness on the tip of the tongue, followed by a naturally sweet and lingering finish in the throat — the distinctive aftertaste that makes ancient Snow Shan tea so highly prized.
5. Brewing Guide
To fully appreciate the tea’s delicate flavour and aroma, we recommend the following brewing method:
Step 1 — Warm Your Teaware
Rinse your teapot and cups with hot water to stabilise the brewing temperature and enhance the tea’s aroma.
Step 2 — Awaken the Tea
Option 1: Place the tea into a warm teapot and briefly cover the lid so the heat gently awakens the leaves.
Option 2: Rinse the tea quickly with water at 90–95°C for around 5 seconds, then discard the water.
This helps the tea leaves open evenly and removes any fine dust from processing.
Step 3 — Brew
Use water at approximately 90–95°C and steep for 30–60 seconds for the first infusion.
For a stronger and fuller-bodied flavour, steep for 2–3 minutes. You can also experiment with lower temperatures or cold brewing to discover different flavour expressions.
Step 4 — Enjoy Multiple Infusions
After pouring, leave the lid slightly open to preserve the tea’s fragrance.
The first 2–3 infusions can use a similar steeping time. From the fourth infusion onward, increase the brewing time by 40–60 seconds each round.
When brewed stronger, the tea typically yields around 6 infusions. With lighter brewing, it can provide 8–10 enjoyable infusions.
The tea can be enjoyed both hot and cold — hot for a richer experience, cold for a cleaner and more refreshing taste.
